3rd OPENING DAY RAFTING SEASON: 1ST SCHEDULED RELEASE ON THE DEAD RIVER
The official start of Northern Outdoors’ summer season and the first high-water dam release on the Dead River. This release offers big thrills and non-stop action as the river flows at a heart pounding 7000 cubic feet per second! This water level is for aggressive participants!
4th KENNEBEC RIVER SEASON OPENER:
First day of guided rafting trips on this classic Maine River. Springtime runoff and smaller crowds make opening day a great time to raft the Kennebec with Northern Outdoors.
10th SCHEDULED RELEASE ON THE DEAD RIVER: 2ND RELEASE
The second of 10 dam releases on the Dead River this season. Spring runoff will have the river flowing at an amazing 7000 cubic feet per second. Reserve a spot early, as these popular trips fill up fast. This water level is for aggressive participants!
11th MOTHER’S DAY:

17th WORLD CLASS BASS FISHING OPENS:
Guided smallmouth bass fishing tours with Northern Outdoors are available starting today. Field and Stream magazine reports that the Upper Kennebec is on the verge of becoming the hottest smallmouth fishery in the Northeast! Or Try fishing for Landlocked Salmon and Brook Trout on our cataraft fishing trip through the Kennebec River Gorge.

14th MAXIMUM MAGIC: 1ST KENNEBEC HIGH WATER RELEASE!
Join us for this first of four special dam releases as the Kennebec will be flowing at nearly DOUBLE its normal volume. This is an aggressive, high adventure trip and only those with a “go for it” attitude should apply. In the evening listen to The Dead Sexies one of western Maine's most popular local bands.
15th FATHER’S DAY:
Do something different with Dad this year. Take him to Northern Outdoors for some whitewater rafting and outdoor adventure.
17th LAUNCH OF NEW GEOCACHING ORIENTATION SESSIONS.
An introduction to GPS receivers and Geocaching basics. Held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6-7pm through the summer. Follow it up with one of our new Geocaching Field Classes, a half day guided hike with geocaching instruction.

Kick off your summer with one of our weekly Adult Overnight Adventures. Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday through August 26, these adventures combine two days of outdoor activities with a night of lakeside camping all rounded off with a 12-mile whitewater raft trip through the Kennebec River Gorge. Food and camping gear will be provided, but you will need to BYOB!

Starting the July 1st, children age 8 to 15 can raft the Kennebec for 1/2 price Monday through Friday. Offer is good through the end of August and is a great way to get out and experience the beauty of Maine with the kids, at a reduced price.

Come to Northern Outdoors and celebrate your independence from another typical Fourth of July. Spend a day on the river with friends and family before returning to Northern Outdoors for a cook-out dinner, slide show, and a hand crafted Kennebec River Brewery Ale.
