Or, you could come on up to Northern Outdoors, get yourself a cabin for your bride tribe, and take over our resort in the Maine woods. 1. So Many Options, So Little Time!
There are so many different things to do at Northern Outdoors and in The Forks, Maine. Whether or not your bride is an active outdoorswoman, she’s sure to have a blast going whitewater rafting. The Kennebec River runs daily from our resort in The Forks with rollercoaster waves and class IV rapids, or you can hit up the Dead River on one of our scheduled big water releases in the spring. Want to go bigger? The Penobscot River has epic Class IV+ hits at our base over in Millinocket area.
Looking for something other than whitewater rafting? Take a hike into Moxie Falls to check out Maine’s highest free falling waterfall. Rent ATVs with Maine Outdoor Sports for a day on the trails. Is the bachelorette more of a low key gal? Sleep in, chill at your cabin, and do a leisurely afternoon self-guided float trip. Grab a beverage, hang in the hot tub and pool at our lodge, and just veg out. 2. Fun for any Age!
Is mom coming? Grandma? Don’t worry, they’ll have fun too! People of all ages come whitewater rafting, from 10 to 65+! If part of the crew is going rafting but some want to stay behind, they won’t complain about sitting on the deck sipping on a craft brewed beer or mudslide, we promise ; )
3. On site brewery. ‘Nuff said.
Did we mention that we have an on-site brewery? That means you have fresh, flavorful beer with locally-sourced ingredients right at your fingertips. Not only that, we have a full liquor bar with any beverage that suits your fancy. Our pub has a full restaurant, and there’s always something going on at our main lodge, including Saturday night corn hole tournaments and DJs, Friday night iGuide request night, and other weekly restaurant specials.
4. Cabins, Camping, and Glamping, Oh My!
You don’t have to worry about having eight different hotel rooms on three different floors- you can all crash together in our two, three, or four bedroom cabins! Depending on your group size, we can house up to 14 in one cabin. Have more than that? Grab two cabins next to each other! On a budget, or looking for something more outdoorsy? 5. Own the Dance Floor (and the night).
This ain’t no shoulder-to-shoulder, sweaty dance club (thank goodness), but we are known for some seriously good times! With the hot tub on the deck, Saturday night cornhole tournies in mid summer, live acoustic tunes on occasion — there’s always something to do!
6. Once You Get Here You Won’t Want to Leave- and you don’t have to!
Once you arrive at Northern Outdoors, you can leave your keys in the cabin. The brewery and restaurant are a walk away and we will be your whitewater rafting and float trip chauffeur! One resort, and you’re all here together- you won’t lose anyone from your bride tribe up here!
