Let’s Run! Northern Outdoors to Host a New October 10K Race by Baxter Outdoors
Put on your trail-running shoes and join Baxter Outdoors and Northern Outdoors (yes, we’re very outdoorsy) for a 6-mile trail-running race on Saturday, October 4, 2014. We’re thrilled to be hosting this brand new 10K on our Forks Area Scenic Trail (FAST). We’ve teamed up with Baxter Outdoors for this fun event–right in the middle of peak leaf season!
While we’re mostly known for our incredible whitewater, we’re also proud of the forests and trails here in The Forks. FAST doubles as the historic Old Canada Road, hugging the eastern shore of our lovely Kennebec River. On your 10K, you’ll dip in and out of the surrounding forest on this relatively flat trail that will get your blood pumping with its fair share of rolls. Our own class III dirt rapids! Don’t want to do the full 10K? We offer a 3-mile route too.
We provide shuttle transportation to the start of this one-way race. Most importantly, the race finishes at the Northern Outdoors lodge so you can kick back and relax, beer in hand. Stay for the afternoon or the whole weekend.
