Snowmobile Trail Conditions Report: The Forks, Maine March 2024

THE FORKS AREA TRAILS REPORT 3/21/2024

Storm update. Boy mother nature sure is messing with us. Wow.. probably 7″ on the ground right now.
We are expecting another dump on Saturday..
1. We will not be grooming or panning. The reason is the ground is far too soft underneath and there are waterholes we would open up.
2. Wagner has closed their main gates on the Shirley Tote Road, closing the upper end of the Bald Mountain Trail.
All the other trails are open to travel. You can get to all of the establishments.
I cannot speak to other clubs at this time but assume the same and to check with them.

Well, the shortest winter ever award goes to… 2024!!!
JK, we’re not sure if that’s historically accurate, but it sure is for recent history. We’re not sure about riding, but Northern Outdoors and Kennebec River Brewery is here and open!

Note: Northern Outdoors’ Park-and-Ride will remain closed for the season. If you’re looking to hit the trails, the Ballfield about 5 miles north of us (next to Berry’s General Store) is open to the public for parking and riding.

THE FORKS AREA TRAILS REPORT 3/1/2024

I’m sure you all know by now, but trail riding as we know it is done. Rain and cold has hardened everything up even for the off trail explorers.

So.. for those adventurers, the warmer weather will soften stuff up on the weekends and allow some exploring.

You can still trailer to areas around here and explore but only recommend for experienced riders.

There are several establishments still open. If you can’t sled, you can still relax somewhere and explore by car or truck 🙂.
